Help is closer than you think.

If you live in the Brazos Valley and you are carrying more than you can manage alone, start here. Resilient Forward is built to help individuals and families get stable — and then keep moving forward.

The three we hear most

Rental, utilities, and money that holds

These are the needs families bring to us first. Here is what we can do about each one, and how to reach us about it.

01

Rental assistance

If rent is behind, or you have a notice from your landlord, tell us where things stand. We start by finding out what would keep your household housed this month, then work out the longer plan from there.

What we can do

  • We help you understand the notice or the balance, so you know what is actually being asked of you and by when.
  • Where another qualified organization in the Brazos Valley already provides rental help, we connect you with that provider rather than duplicating it.
  • Where there is a gap no one else covers, our program resources go toward that unmet need.
  • From there we look at what makes next month different — income, a benefit you may be eligible for, or a plan for what comes after.

Have a notice in hand? Call or text us today rather than waiting.

02

Utilities assistance

Electricity, water or gas — a past-due balance or a disconnection notice is one of the fastest ways a household loses its footing. Reach out as soon as you see it, and we will work on it with you.

What we can do

  • We help you read the bill or the notice and understand your options and deadlines before anything gets shut off.
  • We connect you to the utility assistance and payment programs already operating in our community, and help with the eligibility and application steps that are often the hardest part.
  • We can also look at what is driving the bill up, so the same crisis does not return next season.
  • If the immediate need cannot be fully covered, we tell you that plainly and work out what the next step is with you.

If a disconnection date is close, call or text us — do not wait on a form.

03

Financial literacy programs

Stability that lasts is built, not handed over. Our financial literacy work is for anyone who wants a real handle on their money — whether you are in crisis now or simply want to stop living one bill away from it.

What we can do

  • Budgeting that fits a real household income, not a worksheet that assumes one.
  • Understanding credit — what is on your report, what is hurting it, and what actually moves it.
  • Building a small buffer so an unexpected expense is an inconvenience rather than a crisis.
  • Working through benefits, banking, and the everyday financial decisions that keep a household steady.
  • One-to-one support, at your pace, in plain language, with no judgement about where you are starting from.

Ask to be told when the next session opens, or ask for one-to-one support.

What happens after you contact us

  1. 01

Reach out in whatever way is easiest

Send the form on this page, or call or text us. You do not need paperwork, an appointment, or a referral to start the conversation.

  2. 02

Tell us what is happening right now

Housing, food, utilities, a job that fell through, a bill you cannot cover — say it in your own words. We listen for the real need first.

  3. 03

We map the next steps with you

Together we sort out what can be handled this week and what needs a longer plan, and who else in the community should be part of it.

  4. 04

We stay with you as it moves

Stabilizing is the beginning. From there we connect you to education, training, and financial literacy so the change holds.

What we can help with

Every situation is different, but our work lands in four program areas: family stabilization, education and workforce support, financial empowerment, and community connections.
